You Gotta Eat Here: Ontario Edition!
One of the best things on TV is The Food Network’s You Gotta Eat here. Host John Catucci travels to locations across Canada and the US, finding the amazing restaurants and diners that locals can’t get enough of! Some of these spots are off the beaten path, but they’re absolutely worth visiting!
KENSINGTON BURGER BAR The Kensington Burger Bar has multiple locations in its hometown of Barrie, Ontario, as well as in Bradford and Orillia. That's because people can’t get enough of their mouth-watering burger creations! Just because a burger is associated with “fast food” doesn’t mean it can’t be a work of art – Kensington Burger Bar takes care to compose their hamburgers with fluffy brioche buns, fresh meat and some of the most inventive toppings you’ll ever experience. A true original.
SUL IRMAOS Located in Brampton, Sul Irmaos is a smokehouse of the highest degree! Serving BBQ brisket, pulled pork and turkey in delicious savoury combinations, they’re maybe best known for their Portuguese chicken! If you love a little bit of smoke in your meal, this is a must-visit.
SON OF A PEACH PIZZERIA Nothing beats a good pizza pie, and it would be tough to top the hand-thrown pizzas at Son of a Peach Pizzeria in Burlington. The dough is naturally cold fermented, resulting in crusts with incredible texture and depth of flavour – there’s really nothing like it.
THE IRON SKILLET Some restaurants succeed by doing one thing very well; others succeed by doing everything even better. The Iron Skillet has a vast menu, combining classic pub fare with specialties like paella, schnitzel, tapas appetizers and more. It’s one of my favourites, and it’s in Caledonia!
