Driver Licenses and Requirements

Any valid North American or International driver license is accepted (in English). All non-residents of Canada must carry a valid passport. We do not accept G2 or comparable driver’s license class unless they have their own transferable insurance coverage.

 

Security Deposit

We accept all major credit cards (VISA, MasterCard, AMEX, and Diners Club) for the security deposit. A valid major credit card under the driver’s name is required. Debit cards, cash, and checks are not accepted as valid forms of security deposit.

For all standard vehicle rentals, the security deposit is a minimum of $1000. Rentals of other vehicle classes will require a security deposit ranging from $1500 to $2500. Luxury and Exotic car rentals require a minimum-security deposit of $5000.

The total amount for the security deposit, along with all rental charges, must be available for authorization at the time of rental.

 

Payment Methods

We accept the following methods of payment:

Debit Card, VISA, Mastercard, AMEX, Diners Club and cash. We do not accept cheques as a valid form of payment.

 

Pick-Ups and Drop-Offs

This is a NON-airport location. Pickup and Drop-off Service to/from the Airport is NOT available. The Rental Counter and Vehicles are located onsite.  

Mileage Restrictions & Geographic Restrictions

For Airport clients, the maximum kilometers allowed per contract or per reservation is 3000 kilometers if the vehicle remains within the province of rental location. This applies to minimum 7 day rentals. If the vehicle travels outside the province of rental location, is less than 7 days rental or if you are a local renter, you are allowed 200 kilometers daily up to a maximum of 3000 kilometers monthly. Any non standard vehicle rental such as Vans, Luxury Cars, Commercial Trucks and buses have kilometer restrictions per category. Contact us for specific details for these vehicle types. Additional charges will apply for out of province or cross border travel and must be approved before rental is taken.

 

Fuel Policy

Vehicle must be returned at the same level of fuel as when rented to avoid a service charge of $30 plus any cost of fuel.

 

Out of Province travel or crossing border to USA

Unlimited km rates, when available, are for Ontario only. Vehicles taken outside Ontario and/or into USA will receive 200 km/day and CAD .20 each additional km for the entire rental. Vehicles are not permitted to travel into Mexico. 

 

Zoom Rent A Car Reservations Commitments & Terms

All reserved vehicles will be held for 2 hours beyond your reservation time given at time of booking. If you are late by more than two hours we cannot guarantee you a car.

 

Cancellation Policy

To avoid a cancellation fee, cancellations for vehicles in the Compact, Economy, Mini, Intermediate, Midsize, and Fullsize categories must be submitted at least 72 hours prior to the scheduled pick-up time. Cancellations made after this period will incur a charge equivalent to one full day’s rental at our regular rates.

SUVs, Minivans, 12-passenger vans, Pickup Trucks, Cargo Vans, Convertibles, and Luxury Class Vehicles are non-cancellable and non-refundable.

 

Early Returns Policy

Early returns will be accommodated but reservation can not be prorated and no credit for unused time will be given.

 

Rental Extension / Late Return Policy

We cannot guarantee any requested extension on existing rental and it will be based on availability. Any requests for extensions must be made via phone or email at least 48 hours prior to the original return time. Any extensions if available will be at the regular rates. Combining two or more reservations/promotions is not permitted regardless of the new agreement/reservation. Rental extensions do not guarantee additional kilometers, as the maximum kilometer limit still applies.

 

LDW or CDW insurance Policy

Proof of insurance coverage is mandatory in the province. In order to decline our LDW packages, insurance proof must be presented at the rental counter at the time of pickup. Credit card insurance coverage does not have any 3rd party liability coverage and a mandatory charge will be applicable. You should read your certificate of insurance online to confirm coverage or contact your provider directly before renting or declining any insurance.

 

Non-Specialty Vehicles LDW Packages (Compact, Intermediate, Mid-size, Full-size, SUV & Mini-Vans)

Loss Damage Waiver – $24.99/day+ taxes ($1000 Deductible) -$1000 deposit required

Loss Damage Waiver – $29.99/day+ taxes ($500 Deductible) -$1000 deposit required

Loss Damage Waiver – $34.99/day+ taxes ($250 Deductible) -$1000 deposit required

Gold Card Surcharge – $9.99/day + taxes. (Applicable to all credit card/Online collision-only coverages when 

personal auto insurance transferable to car rentals is not available) 

The below Packages, apply to International renters, Underage renters, and G2 Class or similar driver’s license holders.

Loss Damage Waiver – $29.99/day+ taxes ($2500 Deductible) -$1500 deposit required

Loss Damage Waiver – $34.99/day+ taxes ($1500 Deductible) -$1000 deposit required

• We no longer carry GPS rental


• Underage fee is $25/day


• Additional driver fee is $10/day

• Maximum Age of 75 for all vehicles
