Welcome to Zoom Rentals’ FAQ page. Here you’ll find answers to the most common car rental questions about renting vehicles, including airport pickup, documentation, deposits, mileage limits, insurance, cancellations, extensions, bookings, and more.

We offer complimentary shuttle service for all locations during regular business hours. After collecting your luggage, call our on-site shuttle number and a driver will meet you at the designated pickup zone. Drop-offs are arranged in the same way — please confirm your flight details in advance to ensure smooth service.

To rent a vehicle, you will typically need:

  • A valid driver’s license
  • A major credit card in the renter’s name
  • Valid government-issued identification
  • Proof of car rental insurance (if using personal coverage)

Minimum age requirements apply. International renters must present a valid driver’s license from their home country, along with a passport and return ticket. An International Driving Permit (IDP) may be required if the license is not in English to comply with insurance and local regulations.

  • Drivers must be 23 years or older.
  • Drivers aged 23–24 may be subject to an additional underage fee.
  • Drivers aged 25+ and under 75 typically qualify for standard rental rates.

A refundable security deposit is required at pickup. It serves as protection against accidental damage and incidental charges.

In Canada and the U.S., a minimum deposit of $1000 is held on your credit card. Underage drivers or international licences may require a higher deposit. Debit cards, prepaid cards, cheques, and cash are not accepted for deposits.

We accept most major credit cards for rental charges and deposits. Debit cards may be accepted on a case-by-case basis — please call ahead for confirmation. Rental fees are typically charged upfront at the time of pickup.

Deposits are released by your bank within 3–7 business days for domestic cards. International banks may take up to 30–45 days depending on processing times.

Yes. Additional drivers must meet all age and license requirements. A daily fee applies.

Optional roadside assistance is available for a small daily fee and includes services such as key lockout, jump start, fuel delivery, and related assistance.

  • Maximum of 3,000 km per month when the vehicle remains within the province of pickup.
  • Short-term rentals (under 7 days), out-of-province travel, or local renters: 200 km per day, up to 3,000 km per month.
  • Specialty and non-standard vehicles (vans, luxury vehicles, pick-up trucks, etc.) have separate mileage restrictions.

Additional kilometers beyond the permitted allowance may result in excess mileage charges as outlined in your rental agreement.

Vehicles must be returned with the same fuel level provided at pickup to avoid refueling charges.

Cancellation and modification policies depend on your booking type. Please contact our support team for assistance.

Cancellations must be made at least 72 hours prior to the scheduled pickup time to avoid charges. Requests made within 72 hours may incur a late cancellation fee. Reservations made within 72 hours of pickup are non-cancellable and non-refundable.

Specialty vehicles (SUVs, vans, convertibles, luxury vehicles, pick-up trucks, etc.) are strictly non-cancellable and non-refundable regardless of timing.

Coverage and responsibility depend on the protection or insurance option selected at booking. Please contact us for guidance.

Out-of-province or cross-border travel may be permitted depending on your rental agreement. You must obtain approval in advance. Additional daily charges may apply.

Vehicles are monitored for location activity. Unauthorized travel outside provincial, territorial, or international boundaries may result in service fees and penalties. Please contact our team before traveling.

Extensions are subject to availability and cannot be guaranteed. Please contact us at least 48 hours before your original return time.

  • Combining multiple reservations or promotions is not permitted.
  • A minimum 48-hour gap is required between two separate bookings.

Early returns are permitted; however, rental charges are not prorated. No credit or refund will be issued for unused rental days.

If your plans change, please contact our team before returning the vehicle.

Late returns will result in additional rental charges and potential penalties.

If you anticipate being late, notify us as soon as possible. We may be able to adjust your booking. Contact us at least 48 hours before your scheduled return time if you need an extension.
